Gravel and Timber Steps

Gravel and timber steps are a low cost yet affective way to traverse a slope in the garden. We source land based gravels for their better environmental credentials than marine based gravels, and Oak is FSC certified and sourced from French sustainable forestry.

The dimensions of the timber means we have a lot of flexibility in the steps and riser sizes, and path widths, and can allow a gentle graceful walk up a curved set of steps, or a steeper quick route straight up where space is of a premium.

Be it a flight of 10 steps (try to include a landing to break to monotony), or just two steps, this will work in many scenarios.

As designers we can help specify from wide choice of aggregate colours and types that can be used in this construction method including recycled ceramics, crushed chippings, gravels or slate, and edged with lavender, or an evergreen scented shrub can present a delightful stairway to the rest of the garden.

I’ve been trying to figure out what I should do for the path in my yard. I didn’t know that you could have wood and gravel to make stairs like this! I’ll have to give it a shot. Thank you for sharing!
