Urban Retreat

  • Client Residential
  • Type Garden Design
  • Size 30m2

This plant loving client required a garden design that would encourage wildlife into this urban space, whilst at the same time creating a larger and more enjoyable area to dine out in.

The garden design included removing the existing decking and replacing it with new hardwood decking which extended the area both horizontally and vertically. A decorative 100% recycled ceramic aggregate was used on the pathway that leads to the seating area and shed at the end of the garden.

The garden design utilises as much space as possible for planting to encourage the much-desired wildlife into the space. The planting softens the angular edges of the path as well as breaking up the space to give the garden a larger feel. Malus ‘Evereste’ acts as a focal point from the back door and will provide the client with fruit, flowers and wonderful Autumn Colour. Grasses, bulbs, and perennials make up the planting, all of which will encourage wildlife into the garden. A small water feature sits on the decking to add a key resource for birds and bugs.
