Garden of Reflection

  • Client Residential
  • Type Garden Design
  • Size 1200 m2

This rural garden belongs to a series of converted rural buildings. When Alitura were called in, the only real landscaping in place was an old pond that has silted up and reduced in size.

The client brief included rejuevenating the pond,  a formalised path to the front door, and a terrace outside a workshop space. The client also wanted a seating area out of the bitter wind that whips across the fields from the South Downs.

The pond has been completely re-designed and includes a shallow waterfall that they can walk over, two hardwood timber decks and will have an associated bog garden.  The seating area has been calved into the land and will allow the clients to sit around a central fire pit while enjoying the reflections from the pond.

This whole garden will centre around the pond that will create reflections and light from all angles and is seen from every point in the garden.  The pond is the main priority and will be the first aspect to be landscaped in this staged build.

Keep popping back to see updates on the landscaping process! Currently the pond is complete (images coming shortly) and the rest of the build will happen at a later date.
